How to Use:

Sprinkle a generous handful (or two) of the Bath Salts into a warm bath. Soak for 15min - 30 mins. As we have added a touch of skin-nurturing Apricot Kernal Oil into our Bath Salts please be careful when entering or exiting the bath, as the bath may become slippery.

We recommend a small patch test on your hand or arm before using in the bath. Please do not use on broken skin.

THE NICNEVIN FTER SHOWER BODY OIL

The Nicnevin Body Oil golden yellow in colour, absorbs quickly and leaves the skin smooth and soft. It is scented with Patchouli, Frankincense and Ylang Ylang Essential Oils, providing a decadent, intoxicating, warm and rich scent with spicy floral undernotes.

Can be used as:

How to Use:

Whilst your skin is still damp, apply 3-4 drops onto each area of your body and lightly massage after showering/bathing. Body Oils replace natural oils and moisture lost when washing with soap and water. Wait 2-3 minutes before dressing.

Alternatively, drop a full pipette of the After Shower Oil into a warm bath and relax. Please be careful when entering and exiting the bath and bath oils can make surfaces slippery.

We recommend a small patch test before applying our After Shower Oils on to your body.

Colloidal oatmeal is a fine powder made from ground oats and is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, and lipids. When added to a bath, colloidal oatmeal helps to soothe the skin and helps to retain moisture due to its moisturising properties. It also helps to reduce skin inflammation and irritation, making it an ideal choice for those with dry, itchy and sensitive skin, making ideal for skin prone to psoriasis and eczema.

The Nicnevin

Nana Kat’s Apothecary is based on the East Coast of Scotland where we find inspiration for our Skincare Kits and Potions in the surrounding landscape and the plants that are gifted to us by nature. We also find inspiration in our Scottish folklore, local myths and legends and therefore name some of our Potions after these tales and characters.

Nicnevin, she is known as the Queen of the Fairy Folk or the Witches and is even perhaps the ‘Daughter of the Saint’ (possibly St Brigid). She plays different fleeting roles in the tales she is found in. At times she has different names, but in almost all of her lore, she possesses the power of transformation and change. There is also the suggestion that Nicnevin may have been one of the many women who were caught up in the infamous witch trials of Scotland. A Nic Neville, is recorded as having been burnt in St Andrews in May 1569, and in another witch trial almost 100 years later, there was rumour of a woman, NcNeven, who practised and also taught charms. Whomever she was, we see her as the memory of long-lost women folk who tried to change their environments and places in society.
