Our Saining Loose Incense is inspired by our Scottish tradition of Saining. Saining is an old Scots word for blessing, protecting, or consecrating using smoke, words, water or actions.
Traditionally in Scotland, there are four Fire Festivals, two being well-known Beltaine (May Day) and Samhain (Halloween). In the past (and still found in some communities and families) the community would come together around a bonfire and the smoke would act as purification and protection against the ill will of both humans and the otherworld.
Smoke acts as a purification and protection in many cultures around the world. Our loose incense is mixed with local Woodland botanicals, homegrown herbs, barks, Juniper and Scots Pine essential Oils and resins.

Our Loose Incense is handcrafted in Scotland in small batches and is all-natural, vegan, ethically foraged and organically homegrown botanicals, sustainably sourced resins, barks, botanicals and essential oils. Presented in a 60ml glass Jar. (approx 15g of loose incense)
INSTRUCTIONS & WARNINGS
Burn a small teaspoon of loose incense on an appropriate incense burner on a heat-resistant surface. Only use in a well-ventilated room away from flammable materials and drafts. Never leave burning incense unattended. Do not touch or move incense when it is burning or hot.
Not recommended for pregnant women. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not eat.

NO 'NASTIES' - We do not use Parabens, Sulphates, Silicones, Phthalates, Petrochemicals, Synthetic Scents or Fragrances in our Kits and Potions. We let Mother Nature’s magick do the talking. Any preservatives we use are naturally derived or 'nature identical' and/or are Soil Association and/or ECOCERT approved.
NO ANIMAL TESTING - None of our ingredients have been tested on animals. All our ingredients hold a Certificate of Analysis and have been tested to ensure they are of the highest quality and are safe to use.
VEGAN -Our Kits and Potions contain no animal products. We love Mother Nature’s plants, botanicals and natural minerals, so that is what we use.
ECO PACKAGING - All of our packaging is recyclable, biodegradable, compostable or reusable. We never use ‘single use’ plastics.
HAND MADE IN SCOTLAND - We are a small family business located on the East Coast of Scotland along the banks of the beautiful River Tay. We make all of our Kits and Potions by hand in small batches.
